About This Product:

If you’ve ever found yourself struggling to have productive conversations with your children that end up leading to feelings of drama, frustration and stress, you most certainly are not alone. Parenting children during the ages of 9-15 and beyond can be a challenge, that’s for sure, especially when there is no “users’ manual.” I can assure you that as frustrating as some moments may be, there are steps you can take that will reduce these feelings and move you to be able to better understand, communicate and connect with your children.

So how can you have productive conversations with your children that lead to better understanding, communication and connection?

That’s what this course is all about. By learning the Strategic C.A.L.M. Approach to Communication’s framework, you will be able to set the stage for success when interacting with your children.

This process is a practical, doable approach focused on enhancing areas that you do have control over and showing up for your children in a way that helps them feel seen, heard and valued.

You’ll learn how to:

Create a conversation success framework, that you customize for each child, and focuses on areas that you have control over and will be most impactful.

Lesson One: BE Strategic is all about deciding on when and where to hold important conversations; understanding how your child’s developing brain works and plays into how they show up; setting intentions for your ideal outcome; looking at what behaviors you are modeling for your children; and the "regroup, empty and refuel" concept for both parents and children.

Lesson Two: CENTER will guide you to set the stage for success from a personal level by taking a look at how your personal energy management can affect your sensitive and empathic children along with the concept of being mentally prepared to hear something.

Lesson Three: ACCEPTANCE focuses on ways you can productively engage in conversations with your children, even on those topics/situations that you do not agree with and/or have a strong opinion about.

Lesson Four: LISTEN will guide you to show your child that you are engaged and interested in their thoughts and feelings. You will learn how to delve deeper into conversations with your children in a way that they will not feel like you are interrograting them and actually have them want to share more.

Lesson Five: MINDFUL will help you become aware of your non-verbal communication that may be negatively impacting conversations with your children and how to overcome this; learn how to empower your conversations through “non-reaction,” and gain valuable insight on what children are experiencing in today’s world to better support them.

Over time, you will move away from receiving one-word answers, blank stares and big sighs from your children because they will feel understood, communicated with, and connected by you!

This course includes:

  • 5 video lessons where you can go at your own pace and rewatch as needed
  • 7 success tools that will guide you in mastering key points from each lesson and start creating your “user’s manual” for having productive conversations
  • Bonus: “What are you doing for YOU?!” refill, recharge, and renew tip sheet

The Strategic C.A.L.M. Approach to Communication for parents of 9 to 15 year olds has provided me with so many great tools and skills to help navigate my children's teenage years and all the ups and downs that come along during this time in our lives. Each lesson is filled with many insights and ideas on how to coach , be a better listener and how to create a positive environment for your children to feel safe, heard and valued. With the techniques that I learned after completing the program, I not only had tools to help with the teenagers in my life but the lessons and valuable insights can also be applied to the young adults in my life, as well. Everyone wants the opportunity to be heard and this program certainly helped to lay the foundation for me to be a better listener .

Hi! My name is Carol and I am here to make your life easier as a parent! I am passionate about working with parents to create a safe, supportive and love-based environment that better addresses the challenges their children face in today’s world

As parents, we are so heart-connected to our children that when they experience bullying, health issues, sadness, peer pressure, self-pressure, school challenges, not liking one’s self, etc., etc., we can feel lost at how to make it better especially when we feel their pain so intensely.

The pandemic has only made all of this worse, as our children are feeling more stressed, anxious, depressed, and suicidal. They are also the least equipped to manage it without the proper support.

The good news is as a parent you can take proactive steps and learn how to truly BE there for your child and yourself.

How do I know this? I have been in your shoes multiple times… I raised my younger sister from high school through college and then, much later, raised my boy/girl twins, who graduated college in 2020, and did all of this without having had parents since I was 19. I had to work really hard to figure things out in terms of what works, what doesn’t, and how to navigate it all.

And because I know how much you want your children to be safe, healthy, happy, and successful, and how much you are already being stretched, I want to make your life easier; to support YOU in creating a safe, supportive, love-based environment that better addresses the challenges your children face in today’s world – which all starts with setting the stage for success when we communicate with our children.

Besides my empowerment coaching business, BE Your Influence, I have also been running a youth-focused substance abuse, prevention, health and wellness organization, for over 14 years, working directly with youth during the middle and high school years (ages 11-18), their parents and the schools. So, I have the inside scoop on what children are really thinking and what they want from their parents.

I am certified in the Strengthening Families Program 10-14 years, Covey 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens, suicide prevention, and more.

As an added bonus, I am an energy practitioner which means I approach everything by looking at how our energy/emotions impact ourselves and those around us. Our children are especially sensitive to this and can easily know how we are feeling without us saying even one word (Which is how communication can break down if we are not aware of our energy/emotions).

I am truly honored to support you on your parenting journey, which can be one of the most rewarding and messy experiences on this planet, and one that we will cherish forever.
